Peter Ordower has practiced law since 1980. He has been selected by his peers as a Leading American Lawyer in commercial litigation, has had a preeminent rating for legal ability and ethics from Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory for 20 years and has received multiple Martindale-Hubbell Client Distinction Awards for excellence in quality of service, value, responsiveness and communications. He has participated in litigation throughout the United States, was a partner in a national concentrating in class actions and mass actions, and has been an associate and counsel to numerous law firms. He is an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the National Futures Association and the Circuit Court of Cook County.
Peter Ordower has represented clients in trials and appeals in state and federal courts, represented parties in arbitrations and administrative proceedings, and served as local counsel and co-counsel. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School, the Loyola University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and the University of Illinois. He has also been trained in mediation at the DePaul University College of Law, the Center for Conflict Resolution and the National Institute for Mediation and Training, and is qualified as a mediator for the Circuit Court of Cook County Major Case Civil Mediation Program and an arbitrator for the Circuit Court of Cook County Law Division.
In addition to his litigation practice, Peter Ordower has provided general counsel to individuals and businesses, negotiated and drafted documentation for partnerships, joint ventures, distributor agreements, sales contracts, employment and independent contractor agreements, leases, severance agreements and other matters.
His clients have included banks, real estate developers, retailers, manufacturers, distributors, franchisees, contractors, transportation companies, physicians, attorneys, restaurants, entertainment companies and many individuals. During his career, he has collected millions of dollars for clients.
He is a member of the American, Illinois and Chicago Bar Associations.
